BANGKOK, Nov. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Nowadays, emerging technologies and mobile phones are helping a lot of people make new friends and find their true love. A dating app, JustDating, conducted a survey on the online dating environment in Thailand. Results found that Thai men would prefer partners who are 3-5 years younger than themselves, while Thai women would accept either older or younger partners.

According to JustDating's statistics, Thai men start meeting women on dating apps at the age of 22, while women start at the age of 23. This is compared with other Southeast Asian regions, with average start age of 21 both in Malaysia and Indonesia, 23 in Singapore and 19 in Taiwan.

Although Thai men are not the first in the region when it comes to first dating app experience, they become very active once they have started. Data from the survey shows that 70% of Thai men who use dating apps to find their love are not shy to ask their partner for a second date, which is similar to the results found in Indonesia and Malaysia. On the other hand, Singaporean and Taiwanese men who start using dating apps at their early age usually hesitate in asking for a second date.

83% iPhone users more active than Android user

JustDating also compared the data obtained from Android and iPhone users. It is concluded that iPhone users are more likely to find partners on dating apps. JustDating also found that among users who are more likely to remain in relationship after the first date, 83% are iPhone users.
