SHANGHAI, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mattel China has been awarded "Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2017" by HR Asia Magazine, a leading publication for HR professionals in the region, at the award ceremony held in Shanghai on October 27. Days earlier, the company won the "Best Employer Award 2017" at the CIEB Best China Employer Award, an event sponsored by Enfovia, a leading membership organization for human resources executives in China, and co-organized by the China Employer Branding Institute. Both awards were given in recognition of Mattel's performance in terms of working environment, guidance in career development and employee satisfaction.
HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards was judged by an independent panel of industry experts, academics, journalists and government representatives based on the HR Asia Employee Input Survey (EIS) Report and the HR Asia Workplace and Employee Engagement Survey (WEES). The judges were presented with an executive summary of qualified participants across 12 markets in the region anonymously as well as a report on a comparative chart of the EIS and the WEES survey results were used as determinants of their evaluation. The CIEB Best China Employer Award winners were selected by the lead judging panel consisting of leaders from the business, consulting and academic communities based on five criteria: talent acquisition, talent development, salaries and benefits, openness to organizational change and business collaboration.
As the global economy continues to evolve, talent is becoming an increasingly valuable commodity. Companies are moving beyond simply being a good employer to being the best employer with the aim of attracting and retaining qualified talents as well as improving their competitiveness. In the recent years, Mattel China has been recognized as leading in development of people. In 2016, Mattel won the CIEB Best China Employer Award for that year in addition to Best HR Team in Greater China 2016 and Best HR Manager in Greater China 2016, two awards the game maker gathered at HRoot Awards 2016, an event hosted by Human Capital Management Magazine.
