Outstanding Property Professionals, Projects Recognized at RICS Hong Kong Awards 2016

HONG KONG, March 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- /RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) recognized Hong Kong's outstanding achievements and developments in the real estate industry at its fifth annual awards dinner and Awards presentation ceremony on 11 March 2016 at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong. A total of 30 accolades were awarded to property industry individuals and teams. Mr Martin J Bruhl FRICS, RICS President, joined the event and presented the RICS young achiever award.

Mr John C Tsang, GBM, JP, Financial Secretary, Hong Kong SAR Government, was the event's guest of honour. He delivered a speech recognizing the professionalism of RICS chartered surveyors who contribute significantly to the sustainable and built environment that Hong Kong is privileged to enjoy.

13. Lifetime Achievement Award

Mr Michael John Moir., FRICS

The RICS annual lifetime achievement award was presented to Mr Michael Moir, Director of Property of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC). His work with HKJC and his career highlights with Swire Properties had the greatest influence on the judges' decision.

"I am humbled by the recognition from RICS. It is a credit to my colleagues at Swire and the HKJC, who have enabled our success over the years," said Moir. "I am proud of the contributions we have all made to the Hong Kong community together throughout my career."

Moir was influential in the development of Hong Kong's Taikoo Shing project and in the acquisition, creation and success of Admiralty's Pacific Place development while with Swire. He has been a pivotal contributor in transforming the HKJC's physical assets. Moir also led several community projects, such as the revitalisation of Central Police Station compound, one of Hong Kong's most important heritage projects.
