Pertamina First Wells Drilling at Mahakam Working Area

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Aug 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PT Pertamina (Persero) through its subsidiary company, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) has conducted the first PHM drilling spud in Tunu field within the Mahakam Working Area, conducted by Total E & P Indonésie (TEPI) on PHM's account, on July 16, 2017. The first wells of the PHM under the name of TN -N74 and TN-N75 has a depth of 1,078 m, with SAT (Shallow Architecture Tubingless) complex architecture type. The wells is estimated to take 13 days.

PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam has been appointed by the Government to manage the Mahakam Working Area, which is effective on January 1, 2018, after the expiration of Mahakam Production Sharing Contract (PSC) contract in the management of TEPI on December 31, 2017.

As PHM efforts to maintain the level of oil and gas production in the Mahakam Working Area, PHM plans to drill 14 to 15 wells during 2017, which is in Tunu, Tambora, and Handil fields. Based on the Production Sharing Contract signed by PHM with SKK Migas on December 29, 2015, PHM reserves the right to finance oil and gas operations that are required from the date of signing of the contract up to the effective date of the contract on January 1, 2018, where TEPI will do the execution.
