HONG KONG, Sept. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Silverman Holdings Limited (''Silverman'', Stock Code: 1616.HK) today announced that "Yichang Defense", a large-scale, 35-episode television drama series invested in and produced by Beijing Huasheng Taitong Media Investment Company Limited (''Huasheng Taitong Media''), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, will debut on CCTV-8 tonight during evening prime time.
"Yichang Defense", formerly known as "The Last Stronghold", is another much-anticipated epic drama distributed by Silverman following the success of "The Great Eastern Battlefield". The drama is set during the "Yichang Evacuation" in 1938 and the "Shibei War" in 1943, two historical events that shocked the world, and portrays events in the five-years between 1938 and 1943 during the war of resistance in Yichang against Japanese aggression. The "Yichang Evacuation" is known as "the Dunkirk Evacuation of the Eastern Battlefield", and the "Shibei War" is called "the Battle of Stalingrad of China". "Yichang Defense" begins with the "Yichang Evacuation" and ends with the "Shibei War" through a magnificent and thrilling plot.
"Yichang Defense" was produced by Mr. Meng Fanyao, a National Top Ten TV Producer, and directed by Mr. Qi Xing. Alongside the engaging theme, profound historical significance and numerous characters, the show also features actors including Xu Jia, Tong Lei, Lui Leung Wai, Chan Siu Chun, Hou Yong, Shi Jingming, and Jiang Kai in its all-star cast.
