HONG KONG, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The ceremony covered all aspects of the Spanish presence in Hong Kong over the past 25 years, with awards to our flagship companies and a special emphasis on our gastronomy and the magic of Flamenco.
The Spanish Gala Dinner, took place the 7th of December at The Langham Hotel to celebrate the Spanish Chamber 25th Anniversary. The highlight of the evening, made possible by our Platinum sponsor El Corte Ingles Department Stores, was the gastronomic trip that the Executive Chef Pedro Samper prepared for the occasion: a modern version of the most iconic tapas from each Spanish region followed by superb main courses. Special culinary surprises as the Basque sea urchin and the Valencian orange were part of this delightful experience. The cocktail and the dinner were paired with some of the most representative Spanish wines, Marques de Caceres, courtesy of Kedington Wines and by a range of beers by Estrella Damm.
The sit down dinner started with the 25th Recognition Awards, given as a gratitude to 10 outstanding members of the Chamber for having pioneered various aspects of the Spanish presence in Hong Kong. The awards were presented to:

The night featured two different flamenco performances to the delight of both the local and Spanish guests in the audience. The most important moment of the evening arrived with the Golden Abacus Award that was presented by our President Mrs. Marisa Flores to El Corte Ingles for their outstanding work in strengthening the ties between our two territories.
The evening was closed with a warm speech by our Deputy Consul General, Trade Commissioner in Hong Kong, Mrs. Maria Perez Ribes.
