BANGKOK, Nov. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT) is expanding its cooperation with UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. by launching the first ever exhibition in ASEAN on technology for the Electric Vehicle Industry. Electric Vehicle Asia 2018 and the International Conference - iEVTech 2018 - now comprise the region's most important conference which is to be held from 6-9 June 2018 at BITEC, Bangkok.

'Electric Vehicles' is one of the innovations that the automotive world is now focused on. The major innovation is coming to an important turning point that should be closely watched - particularly by Thai manufacturers, the government, entrepreneurs and manufacturers of automotive parts. 

"The policy on new alternative energy supports electric vehicle technology from the government. It also needs to advance in order to be a 'product champion' and compete with other countries in the ASEAN Pacific region." The President of EVAT also mentioned that "the government is now focused on promoting electric vehicles which includes the reduction of the car excise tax based on CO2 emission tariffs. This operates in conjunction with investment in the production of electric vehicles around the country. Companies may apply for support from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), which aims to promote Thailand as a center for the production of electric cars. These investments will result in further developing the country's electric vehicle industry and provides an opportunity for Thailand to focus on research and boost development of electric vehicles for mass production," the President said.

"iEVTech 2017, has shared knowledge on the technology, innovations and science from specialists in electric vehicles in Thailand and abroad," he noted. A Seminar supported by the BOI which also made a presentation and provided information supporting the production of electric vehicles and charging stations in Thailand. The Seminar hosted more than 300 participants which included domestics and foreigners in the industry. It also created a network of integrated development for electric vehicles," said Dr. Yossapong Laoonual.

The Association set to further co-operate with UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd., by signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the exhibition on technology for the electric vehicle industry. "I am proud to announce that - Electric Vehicle Asia 2018 and iEVTech have also been selected by IEEE to host the IEEE International Electrification Conference and EXPO Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific 2018) for the first time in ASEAN. This will be a feature of the exhibition," Dr. Yossapong said.

Electric Vehicle Asia 2018, will stage the International Electric Vehicle Industry exhibition and conference; iEVTech, International Electric Vehicle Technology; and IEEE International Transportation Electrification Conference and EXPO Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific 2018). All events will fulfill key elements of electric vehicles and support the government's policies on energy throughout the exhibition. The events will be held in conjunction with ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2018 - ASEAN's Largest and Most Comprehensive International Exhibition & Conference on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency & Environmental Technology which will run from 6-9 June at BITEC, Bangkok.
