HONG KONG, Jan. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TYC Brother Industrial Co., Ltd. is one of the world's top manufacturers of car, motorcycle, truck, and bus lights. It supplies OEM and after-market (AM) automotive lights for different applications, as well as other collision parts, all around the world. Seeking to help customers satisfy all of their purchasing requirements in one place, TYC has acquired a variety of certifications from TUV Rheinland. These include such strict quality certifications as the eMark and Thatcham (U.K.), which has allowed TYC to set a benchmark for automotive lights that competitors have struggled to surpass.

TYC and TUV Rheinland have worked together for many years, especially on ECE homologation for automotive lights.  The year of 2016 marked the 30th year of TUV's presence in Taiwan, and was also the 30th anniversary of TYC as well. The two companies have worked together for 20 years out of their 30-year history, and have gone through many different challenges together during this time.

TYC products and parts are sold all around the world. The two companies have therefore been comrades in arms for many battles, be it the development of new products or visits by state officials. The most memorable event from this longstanding partnership was the Netherlands Ministry of Transportation's first audit of TYC, three years ago. "The Netherlands Ministry of Transportation (E4 RDW) came to the TYC factory three years ago to conduct the first-ever Conformity of Production (COP) audit. We asked TUV Rheinland to assist us with advance spot checks, accompanying the auditors and responding to auditor issues. We eventually received approval for 2 years. This left us with a very strong impression of TUV Rheinland's professionalism in lighting certification and quality systems," says Ben Lin, R&D Director at TYC. The most challenging part of automotive lighting development and design is the light configuration and environmental testing.   Automotive lights designed for snow use have different lighting configurations and environmental tests from those intended for normal road use.  Lin has known Jerry Wu, TUV Rheinland's technical expert, for years and believes that TUV Rheinland's long history of professional automotive lighting testing capability, along with its familiarity to interpret regulations, means that lighting that has passed TUV Rheinland testing is trusted by customers. This in turn has helped pave the way for TYC's business growth.

Inside the TYC sample room is a bewildering array of automotive lights, for everything from motor scooters to cars. Records indicate that TYC has developed more than 10,000 lighting products to date. For lights that will be used by international heavy motorcycle brands such as BMW, Ducati, MV, and Triumph, says Lin, "We use TUV Rheinland certification because it is accepted by most European customers. This has helped TYC achieve major breakthroughs in the OEM export market for heavy motorcycles. OEM export sales now amount to hundreds of millions of dollars each year."

If one's wife and kids represent a person's family, then company colleagues represent a partnership. Lin notes the following in regard to the long-term cooperation between TYC and TUV Rheinland: "TUV personnel's commitment to excellence means that TYC has continued to improve the safety and quality of its products. The mission of TYC is to provide the best, safest, and most competitive car and motorcycle parts. As we both embrace the pursuit of excellence, we are now like buddies who have total faith in each other."

The link below sets forth the three reasons given by Lin for the enduring TUV/TYC partnership, which has lasted for more than 20 years: "Enthusiastic service, professional certification, and international credibility." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lw4jFOj9gg
