SHANGHAI, Feb. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) - the creators of the LEED green building rating system - announced that Greenbuild, the place where the green building community unites, will be held in Shanghai, China October 17-18, 2017.
Greenbuild is heading to China to bring together global industry leaders, experts and frontline professionals dedicated to sustainable building. Greenbuild is the ideal space to learn about groundbreaking green building products, services and technologies in the region.

China certified 35 square meters of LEED space per person in 2016, accounting for nearly 1000 LEED certified projects. Emerging economies like China, India and Brazil are engines of green growth and development varies from two to six-fold over current green building levels.
Increased consumer demand has also pushed the world's green building market to a trillion-dollar industry, a surge that has led to a corresponding increase in the scope and size of the green building materials market, which is expected to reach $234 billion by 2019.

The 2016 marquee Greenbuild conference, held annually in the United States since 2002, took place in Los Angeles, California, and included an overall attendance of 18,079 and 531 exhibiting companies participating in 138,960 square feet of exhibit and display space on the trade show floor.
In recent years, the conference has expanded internationally. In addition to the 2017 China Greenbuild, the conference will also take place in Boston, India and Brazil this year.
