Patron of the Awards, HMA Dame Barbara Woodward stated that: "I am delighted to be Patron of the British Business Awards for 2018, the 10th anniversary of the Awards. Business to business links are a vital and growing part of our bilateral relationship: China is now the UK's largest export destination outside of Europe and North America; the UK is one of the top destinations for Chinese investment in Europe; and since 2008, when these awards began, British exports of goods and services to China have grown by 174%. The British Business Awards recognise the outstanding contributions and positive impacts that businesses have brought to the UK-China relationship and I look forward to celebrating the many success stories and innovative ideas that will be showcased in these awards."

Nicholas Holt, Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in China stated that: "Every year there are many stand-out achievements of British business in China, and that is what we will be celebrating at this year's British Business Awards. We are excited to be hosting the 10th anniversary of the British Business Awards in Beijing in 2018, where we can recognise the successes of UK business across China and pay tribute to the positive impact that they have had on the broader bilateral relationship."

He went on to say: "We look forward to seeing a broad range of British companies promoting their great success stories and displaying the innovation, enterprise and endeavour that typifies British commerce in China."

Barry Piper, Chairman of the British Chamber in Shanghai, stated that: "The great strength of the British Business Awards over the 10 years that we have been celebrating it is that the Awards are a truly national event with a broad reach. When The British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai hosted the Awards in 2016, we were thrilled by the diversity of applications that were received, with applicants not only from Beijing, and Shanghai, but also further afield from cities like Guangzhou, Chengdu and beyond. "

He went on to say that: "While they may be broadly spread across China all of these applicants shared one thing in common; they embodied the spirit of enterprise that is at the heart of Britain and China's economic future."

The presentation of the awards will take place at a gala dinner in Beijing on November 15 with nominees, leaders of industry and dignitaries in attendance.
