HSINCHU, Aug. 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- ARTERY has recently launched the first automotive grade AT32A403A MCU, marking its successful penetration into the automotive MCU market. Characterized by high performance, safety and reliability, the AT32A403A series is suitable for automotive body control, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), car audio & video, automotive battery management system (BMS) and other automotive applications.
High reliability, AEC-Q100 compliant
Compared with general electronic products, automotive electronics have higher reliability requirements for MCUs to ensure user safety and driving performance in extreme environment. As the first automotive grade MCU product, AT32A403A is certified according to automotive standard AEC-Q100 Grade 2, and it is guaranteed to operate over an extended temperature range from -40 °C to +105 °C, meeting the requirements of high reliability and stability.
ARTERY always emphasizes and insists on safety and reliability first. We accepted and passed AEC-Q100 qualification tests including accelerated environmental stress test, accelerated lifetime simulation test, package assembly integrity test and electrical verification test. We also strengthened quality control in product R&D, manufacturing, sales and technical support, and implemented product reliability verification and management to guarantee high reliability and performance.
Superior in high-performance computing in automotive
The AT32A403A series combines advantages of AT32F403A and is powered by 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M4 core. It embeds a single precision floating-point unit (FPU) and utilizes 55nm advanced process to achieve 200 MHz computing speed, and its memory design supports up to 1 MB Flash and 224 KB SRAM, with one external memory controller (XMC) and a SPIM interface extra interfacing up to 16 Mbytes of the external SPI Flash, meeting the requirements of complex functional algorithms of automotive electronics.
In order to further meet diversified needs of automotive electronics, the AT32A403A series incorporates rich peripherals, multiple communication modules, up to 3 x I2Cs, 4 x SPIs, 2 x SDIOs, 8 x USARTs/UARTs, 1 x USBFS and 2 x CANs to realize multiple communication modes for automotive control and automotive networking.
In addition, the AT32A403A series also has 3 x 12-bit 2Msps ADCs and 2 x 12-bit DACs for high-speed data acquisition and transmission, and up to 8 x 16-bit general-purpose timers, 2 x 32-bit general-purpose timers and 2 x 16-bit advanced timers for automotive motor control.
The AT32A403A series supports three low-power modes, i.e., Sleep mode, Deepsleep mode and Standby mode, with a 2.6 to 3.6 V power supply, which meets low power consumption requirements. When the vehicle is not running or the selected automotive electronics are not working, users can disable the corresponding control module or enable low-power mode to reduce power consumption.
Efficient and safe development ecosystem
The AT32A403A series utilizes the AT32 MCU development ecosystem that contains rich hardware and software resources such as AT-Link-Family, BSP standard library and ICP/ISP programmer, and supports IDEs such as Keil, IAR, eclipse and RT-Thread Studio, and OS/GUI platforms such as RT-Thread OS, FreeRTOS and LittlevGL, so as to promote the development efficiency of automotive electronics.
Information security is becoming increasingly important in the process of intelligent network electrification of the automotive industry. Given that, the AT32A403A series is designed with multiple chip security protection features, including readout protection (RDP), Flash programming (.hex/.bin file) with encrypted function via AT-Link Family, and dedicated security library (sLib). This library is a defined area protected by a code in the main memory so that solution providers can not only program core algorithm in it, but also provide downstream customers with room for secondary development. Besides, during SPI NOR Flash programming, programs and data to be programmed are encrypted by MCU internal hardware for protection.
Wide applications, enriching and improving user experience of automotive intelligent electronics
The AT32A403A series offers high reliability, superior performance and security code protection, which makes it suitable for automotive body control, multimedia information system, instrument control, automotive motor and the intelligent and real-time security systems, specifically including applications in automotive lighting, window, seat, BMS, car cooling fan, air conditioner, BLDC motor, sensor, T-Box, door handle, OBC, instrument, infotainment system, EPS, reversing radar, ADAS, 360-degree camera, OBD, smart rearview mirror, PM2.5 air filter, head-up display (HUD), wireless charging, alarm and PTC heater, enriching and improving automotive intelligent interactive experience.
AT32A403A series has 12 models and provides a variety of package types to meet different memory demands, including QFN48, LQFP48, LQFP64 and LQFP100. The AT32A403A samples are currently available, and mass production is scheduled to begin in August this year.
