Aryaduta Bali's top chef Gede Agus Kurniawan heads for an International Competition after winning three consecutive awards in Bali's fruit carving competitions

BALI, Indonesia, Oct. 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Gede Agus Kurniawan, one of Aryaduta Bali's top chefs, won three prestigious fruit carving competitions at the following event held by the Indonesian Chef Association on 15 September, Tourism Olympic Contest on 25 September, Jimbaran Beach Festival "Food Culinary Competition" on 7 October 2019 and aims to win an International Competition next month on a Snow sculpture competition after being second runner up winner on international butter sculpture competition last year in Berawa Beach Festival. Early 2019, he went to China to represent Indonesia on an International Fruit Carving competition together with another 30 participants from all over the world.

Aryaduta Bali has participated at three of the fruit carving competitions since 15 September 2019, where there were more than 80 participants and won them all. Being given papayas, watermelons, carrots, cucumber, spring onion, lettuce, and honeydew, the chef who was born on 25 April 1998, carved it into a marvellous ocean life with colourful coral and a Balinese figure statue. The carvings were evaluated by experienced judges comprising of Head Chefs from the Bali region. Each sculpture was judged on design, composition, technical skills, difficulty, creativity and originality.

"Aryaduta Bali has given me an opportunity to develop my skills and support to win all three competitions. Now I am aiming for an International Competition in Snow sculpture next month in Pecatu, Bali. My biggest challenge was the timing, but I have made my strategy for the upcoming competition. I love carving, and I want to prove to the company that they can be proud of having me as part of their team," he says. "My father, I Wayan Widana, which is also my role model, has helped me to pursue my dreams," he adds.
