BEIJING, April 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Disney/Marvel's AVENGERS: ENDGAME, the second film in history to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras, grossed $42.4 million on 609 IMAX China screens over its 5-day run, surpassing the previous record by 66%. AVENGERS: ENDGAME's 5-day IMAX China box office has already surpassed the entire IMAX China run of INFINITY WAR ($41.2 million). IMAX represented 13% of the film's overall 5-day cume in China from just 1% of the total screens.
45 of the top 50 theatres were IMAX with the Company reporting its highest ever per screen averages in China with $69,600.
The film also broke several other IMAX China records including best midnight, opening day, 3-day opening and biggest opening week (in only 5 days).
