The International Internet Integrity Conference 2018 was successfully held on April 17th in the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center by Shenzhen Commerce Better Service (EBS), a member of WTA. Government leaders; well-known e-commerce masters such as eBay, JD.com, Alibaba, UnionPay, Suning, Kingdee, ZALORA and Octopus; and industry leaders were invited to join. The conference aimed to carry forward the spirit of integrity, set up an integrity benchmark and model, further promote supply-side structural reform, speed up e-commerce globalization and build a new structure of "Internet + Credit".

At the conference, there were many discussions among multi-national corporations and organizations. Additionally, WTA held a ceremony for the handover of the chairmanship. Mr. Joseph Yuen, the Board Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce (HKFEC), was appointed to be the new chairman of WTA.

The World Trustmark Alliance (formerly Asia Trustmark Alliance) was established in 2003 and renamed in 2010. After laying the foundations for a pan-Asian collaborative framework, it began to look toward closer co-operation at an international level and therefore developed into WTA. It aims to promote a trustworthy e-commerce environment by intensifying development and implementation of the code of conduct, increasing recognition and privacy information protection, and so on. Its members, including Shenzhen E-commerce Better Service (EBS) from China, TradeSafe Inc. from Japan, CyberSecurity Malaysia from Malaysia, National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) from Korea, TÜV SÜD from Germany and TRUSTe from the USA, are all devoted to implementing the code of conduct of WTA in dealing with issues related to disclosure of information, security, privacy, alternative dispute resolution and monitoring.

With the spread of broadband and mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs, e-commerce transaction is expected to continue to expand. Since different countries apply different standards, these operations make cross-border transactions difficult. Therefore, discussions and arrangements on issues such as dispute-handling networks will become increasingly important. WTA, as an international organization, aims to further develop cyber integrity and dispute-handling systems, provide a standard for network service providers to follow and handle conflicts among governments, enterprises and customers, in order to accelerate e-commerce development. WTA is looking forward to cooperating with its members to increase confidence levels in using the Internet, and then facilitate the international development of e-commerce as a whole, with a hope to continuously gain support from governments and organizations from different industries.

Mr. Joseph Yuen, Chairman of WTA said, "It is my honor to be the chairman of the World Trustmark Alliance. HKFEC previously launched the "Hong Kong Trust Mark" aimed at increasing the awareness of IP rights and genuine goods from online merchants, and the confidence level of visitors shopping online in Hong Kong, which matches the aim of WTA on a global scale. As a representative from Hong Kong, I am proud to promote the core value of integrity in Hong Kong to the world. I am looking forward to working with the global members of WTA to bring a safe envrionment for future digital transformation."

Ms. Ada KL Leung, JP, Director of Intellectual Property, the Government of the HKSAR said: "I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to Mr. Joseph Yuen, Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce, on his appointment as the Chairman of World Trustmark Alliance (WTA). I look forward to seeing the continuing healthy development in cyber integrity as well as protection of trade marks under Mr Yuen's leadership."

Dr. Du Jia, former chairman of WTA said, "Mr. Yuen has very strong network around the belt and road region connecting leaders from e-commerce industry, and so I believe he can lead WTA in building a more trustworthy international e-commerce environment."

Mr. Zhou Wen, Director of Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology said, "It is my pleasure to be involved in developing e-commerce trust between China and the rest of the globe. I hope to see the further improvement and development of Chinese e-commerce in the future through WTA."
