Shanghai Luye Lilan Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Connected project, will be open for patients in 2024. It will focus on key therapeutic areas including cardiology, urology, digestive disease, and oncology, to keep improving clinical outcomes, to perform tech-intensive complex surgeries, and to provide a wide range of high-quality patient-centered medical services.

At the event, Luye Medical, Cleveland Clinic and Foster + Partners presented a scale model of the project and introduced the design philosophy to the public for the first time. Revolving around the patient-centered healthcare philosophy, the Shanghai Luye Lilan Hospital will fully draw on China's landscaping elements in its architectural design to create a medical space seamlessly connected with nature, to help patients heal better physically and mentally, and to improve their overall health. The hospital will adopt the latest digital technologies and follow the international quality assurance standards to create a highly green, very flexible and most comfortable space, to improve Chinese patients' experience through the best building and the best equipment. Every patient will be able to enjoy an environment that is natural with various layers in this space, including an open, landscape-rich atrium, a well-vented glass rooftop that can provide plenty of natural light, and the main building surrounded by a courtyard.

With the ongoing implementation of the "Healthy China 2030" strategy, China has a growing demand for advanced international medical technologies and leading health management practices. Today's event marks an important milestone following the strategic cooperation agreement signed in 2017 by the two parties to jointly create an international general hospital in Shanghai under the umbrella of Cleveland Clinic Connected based on the shared vision of providing value-based and patient-centered healthcare. This relationship will help to upgrade China's healthcare services through providing cutting-edge international medical technologies, a scientific operating model, and advanced management systems.

Cleveland Clinic has nearly one hundred years of experience in clinical operations, patient experience, and quality of care. Bill Peacock, Chief Operating Officer of Cleveland Clinic, said: "For years, we have been collaborating with various medical institutions across the globe to provide the highest quality care for patients around the world, and to improve their health on an ongoing basis. The presentation of the architectural scale model for this project is the beginning of a new chapter in medical collaboration and practice both in China and in the United States. We look forward to working with Luye Medical to develop a premier patient-centered hospital that will build upon U.S-China medical cooperation."

On this cooperation, Mr. Liu Dianbo, Chairman of the Board, Luye Life Sciences Group expressed his excitement, saying: "The idea of enabling patients to enjoy the best medical products, technologies and services has been driving Luye Medical ever since its inception. In order to be better-positioned to meet the need for medical services of a higher quality in the future, we should join with the best international partners, to keep innovating and advancing medical solutions in all aspects.
