SUZHOU, China and MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Hilton (NYSE: HLT), today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Suzhou Wujiang, a 22-storey, 316-room hotel located in the center of WuJiang Economic Development Zone, one of China's "Top 10 Districts" on the borders of Suzhou and Shanghai, bridging the core of the rapidly developing Yangtze River Delta. This opening marks the entry of the award-winning full-service brand, DoubleTree by Hilton, in Suzhou, introducing its signature warm hospitality and caring service to the city. The hotel is owned by ManWah Holdings Limited and managed by Hilton.

"Wujiang's uniquely advantageous location presents Hilton with a valuable opportunity, thanks to its recent integration into the Yangtze River Delta Development Plan," said Qian Jin, area president of Greater China and Mongolia, Hilton. "Home to 20 Fortune 500 companies and nearly 100 listed foreign-invested companies, the Wujiang Economic Development Zone is welcoming immense growth in both its economy and demand for internationally branded hotels. DoubleTree by Hilton Suzhou Wujiang meets the demand for sophisticated meeting spaces and guest-centric services to support the region's rapid development."

Located in the heart of the Wujiang District, the new hotel is the ideal choice for Wujiang's many business travelers and offers convenient access for tourists to explore the city's famed ancient water towns. The UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site, ancient towpath, in the Grand Canal Park is walking distance from the hotel, and within six kilometers, guests can enjoy shopping, entertainment centers, and scenic spots like Qipao Town, Jingsi Garden, Tongli Water Town, and Taihu Lake, a vast ecological park. Guests can travel from the hotel with ease with the Suzhou Metro Line 4 and several bus hubs in close proximity, in addition to a dense network of expressways that provide access to key cities in the Yangtze River Delta. Major business and leisure destinations in China can be reached via the Suzhou Railway Station (28 kilometers away), the Sunan Shuofang International Airport (45 kilometers away), and the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (65 kilometers away).

Built on the bank of the Grand Canal, the hotel subtly integrates canal and water elements in the public areas, guest rooms and meeting spaces, with design features such as the cascading crystal lights in the lobby that outlines the canal and marks the major cities through which it flows. In the Executive Lounge, warm lighting comprises 450 small fish in different colors and shapes, appearing to swim overhead through a canal. As a key inspiration for the interior, the water element is also echoed in all marble surfaces and carpets through a ripple design, evoking soft comfort and natural serenity at every touch point.

"DoubleTree by Hilton Suzhou Wujiang is an exciting addition to our portfolio that showcases the brand's successful growth throughout Asia Pacific as we seek to deliver exceptional facilities and hospitality that resonates with the region's business and leisure travelers," said Shawn McAteer, senior vice president and global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. "We look forward to welcoming guests to a home away from home with elevated comfort, starting with our warm chocolate chip cookie welcome."
