BANGKOK, June 27, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 462 offers from top universities have been made to the excellent graduates of the Class of 2023 at Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, Riverside. Some of the top universities in the world, including Cambridge, Imperial College London, Cornell, University College London, Brown, London School of Economics, Durham Pepperdine, Perdue, Babson, British Columbia, Pratt, and The Oberlin Conservatory of Music have made offers to our students.

Our students received offers from 11 countries worldwide; some places being the Bartlett School at UCL for Architecture, three places for medicine, two at the University of Galway and one at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, and Music Therapy at Berklee College of Music, Boston. Another set of exceptional offers was from the University of Leeds dentistry and medicine programmes where two Shrewsbury students were offered places, one on each course.

Shrewsbury Riverside students have also been successful in achieving places at Berklee College of Music, Boston - the number one ranked music school in the US and The Bartlett at the University College London, UK - the number one ranked Architecture course in the world.

These outstanding results demonstrate the academic excellence at Shrewsbury Bangkok where students are given unique opportunities to flourish both inside and outside the classroom resulting in 15 Top in the World and 19 Top in Asia awards from both CIE and EdExcel examination boards for exam success in 2022/23.

Several prestigious universities in the US offered places for our students, including the Parsons School of Design, where Year 13 student Ai is eager to experience the exciting energy of New York City. Ai is excited to experiment with new creative outlets by being exposed to a variety of artistic experiences and mediums.

Ai, a Year 13 Student, she'll be attending Parsons School of Design this year.

"The city itself gives off such a unique energy that I resonate with and it made sense that I continue my education there, somewhere I can flourish academically and personally. I'm excited and hopeful that after graduating, I'll be able to use the knowledge and skills I've gained to open my own art business or exhibition space." Ai says excitedly.

Leading colleges search for applicants with a wide range of interests and abilities in addition to academic aptitude and potential. The fact that more than 12 medical program offers have been given out in Thailand and overseas demonstrates yet another strength at Shrewsbury Riverside: encouraging students' strengths to complement their academic pursuits.

One student in particular, Sprite, made history when he became the first student from Shrewsbury to be admitted to Mahidol University's Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, he wanted to pursue a profession in medicine as he wanted to help better people's quality of life - a trait shared with other students that have been offered places at medical programmes throughout the years.

"I'd like to thank my teachers for their guidance and support throughout the A-levels and the Higher Education team for helping during the admission and interview processes." Sprite said with a smile.

Undoubtedly, a significant contributor to the university's ongoing success is the school's Higher Education Team. Every effort is made to pair the right academic programs at universities that best suit each student's needs and goals, and this year, there are wide-ranging options from no fewer than 163 different institutions.

Shrewsbury Riverside's Higher Education team offers Year 12 students what is known as Next Steps, a university preparation programme that comprises three days of activities designed to help students with their applications, including writing personal statements and essays, alumni visits, and logging onto UCAS, alongside this students are given time to reflect on their post-Shrewsbury plans.

"In Years 10-13, we aim to provide students with the knowledge they need to navigate important decisions such as selecting IGCSE/GCSE and A Level combinations and producing challenging lists of possible university destinations. However, the most important piece of advice we can give is that students need to spend time on the areas and subjects which really interest them. Universities want to see a real and sustained commitment to an applicant's chosen area of study." Dominic Mochan, Director of Higher Education shares.
