Galaxy Macau Officially Launches Artists-in-Residence: Summer Love - Live Mural Painting and Exhibition

MACAU, May 18, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, five of Macau and Hong Kong's well-known contemporary artists came together for a period of shared inspiration under the roof of Galaxy Macau Integrated Resort (hereinafter Galaxy Macau). Working with the theme of "Summer Love", the five artists painted individual creations across a live format, as well as later conjoining their creativity on an extensive 50-meter mural—an amalgamation of 10-meter murals painted by each of the five artists. On the afternoon of May 18, at art space GalaxyArt in Galaxy Promenade, "Artists-in-Residence: Summer Love – Live Mural Painting and Exhibition" was officially launched.

In addition to the individual murals created by each artist, the opening ceremony also unveiled the artists' collaboration that featured a kaleidoscope of creative styles and techniques, as well as underscoring the deep cultural ties between Macau and Hong Kong.

Five talented artists from Macau and Hong Kong spent six weeks at GalaxyArt, delighting art lovers who were given a live window into their creative journey. Through each artist's brushstrokes, summer themes of flowers, animals, the ocean and the starry sky were subtly transformed into a combination of lines, color blocks, graphics, and text as each artist presented his or her personal interpretation on the theme of "Summer Love." As part of "Artists-in-Residence: Summer Love – Live Mural Painting and Exhibition," the exhibition of the murals will run till June 30 and is free to the public.
