BEIJING, Jan. 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 5, "China-Myanmar Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship" under Global Youth Multicultural Forum jointly organized by Center for International Cultural Communication, CICG and Sino-Pipeline International was held online. Energy specialists and youths from China and other countries exchanged ideas on global climate change and new energy application and practice via video link.
May Grace, analyst of ESG(Environmental, Social and Governance Impact) from Myanmar said in her presentation that addressing global warming demands our urgent actions. Solar irrigation system is endowed with advantages including less fuel cost, less greenhouse gas emissions and more agricultural income which can be deemed a sustainable solution for global warming.
Kong Zhe, the co-founder of Diinsider stressed in his speech that the four major strategies to address climate change are mitigation, adaptation, technological development and financing mechanism. Mitigation refers to the process of curbing greenhouse gas emissions via human activities; adaptation involves a range of activities to reduce vulnerability and build resilience in key sectors such as diverting fresh water to areas where there is water shortage; technological development is to develop equipment that is in line with local conditions; financing mechanism refers to allocating special budget for certain populations when funding climate change projects.
Mostafezur Rahaman, researcher and solution designer of YY Ventures stressed in his speech that seawater invasion caused by climate change has given rise to river salinization in Bangladesh which has caused grave impact on food and agricultural production. A large number of populations in the southern part of Bangladesh were forced to move to central areas causing overpopulation and deriving gender, family and livelihood problems. He also proposed that youths form other parts of the world should improve their understanding on environmental issues and find solutions to address climate change.
The co-organizer Sino-Pipeline International has been in charge of the operation of China-Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline Project. Guided by the principle of achieving shared growth through consultation and collaboration, the project has made its contribution to Myanmar socio-economic development and people's livelihood. China National Petroleum Corporation has also been making progress in developing hydrogen energy. During the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, CNPC constructed the first joint-ventured hydrogen station for new energy vehicles which greatly reduced fuel use and waste gas emissions and well implemented the concept of "Green Olympic Winter Games".
