The return of the three services is part of city's effort to become an international aviation hub
SHENZHEN, China and ROME, May 29, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- On the morning of May 26, Hainan Airlines and Shenzhen Airport Group held a launch ceremony at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport hailing the recommencement of flights from Shenzhen to Rome, Auckland and Brussels.
The first Shenzhen-Rome direct flight HU437 will lift off from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport at 1:15 AM on May 28 and touch down at Rome Fiumicino Airport at 8:30 AM local time, marking the resumption of Hainan Airlines' fourth international route originating from Shenzhen. At the ceremony, Hainan Airlines also announced that the carrier will restart flights on the Shenzhen-Auckland and Shenzhen-Brussels routes in June, lifting the number of international routes departing from Shenzhen to six.
Hainan Airlines will operate a twice-weekly round trip service between Shenzhen and Rome, on Thursdays and Sundays. A Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft will serve the route, with a one-way economy class ticket from Shenzhen starting at 1,600 yuan (excluding tax). From June 17, the airline will resume flights between Shenzhen and Auckland with two round trips per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays using wide-body A330 aircraft. Economy class fares from Shenzhen start at 1,900 yuan (excluding tax). In addition, the Shenzhen-Brussels route will operate two round trips per week on Wednesdays and Sundays from June 21. The route will be serviced by wide-body B787 aircraft, with a one-way economy class fare from Shenzhen starting at 3,000 yuan (excluding tax). Passengers have various options to make inquiries and purchase tickets for Hainan Airlines' flights. They can visit Hainan Airline's website, download the app, access the services via the WeChat account and mini-program, contact the service hotline at 95339, or visit directly affiliated ticket offices and authorized ticket agencies. Hainan Airlines also offers convenient travel options including advance seat selection, pre-paid baggage, inflight upgrade, and the air ticket + visa package. Brussels Airport provides several convenience services, including visa-free transit and luggage interline service, facilitating seamless connections from Brussels to other destinations in Europe, Africa, and North America.
To date, Hainan Airlines has resumed or initiated nearly 30 international and regional roundtrip passenger routes from Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Haikou, Chongqing, Xi'an, Changsha, and Guangzhou. The airline will continue to resume routes halted due to the pandemic as well as open new international and regional routes, in a move to further meet the expectations of both inbound and outbound passengers.
