Almira leverages three decades of experience in finance, business administration and operations, alongside her exceptional leadership abilities, to steer HKBN's overall corporate strategies in areas that include business development, joint ventures, strategic investments, acquisitions and divestitures. Agnes, who brings over a broad range of experiences covering all facets of legal, policy, regulatory and interconnection issues, will oversee the Group's legal and regulatory affairs.

HKBN Co-Owner and Group CEO NiQ Lai said, "With the addition of Almira and Agnes, our CXO Management Committee is strengthened to 8 members, bringing diversified expertise and perspective to HKBN's overall leadership vision. Almira and Agnes have played pivotal roles in accelerating the integration of HKBN and WTT, helping our Group harvest the upside synergies for long-term growth."

Soon-to-be Co-Owners of HKBN

Demonstrating their commitment to the Group through 'skin in the game', Almira and Agnes have each pledged to invest a minimum of 1-year salary (typically 5 years of savings) to become Co-Owners under HKBN's proposed Co-Ownership Plan III Plus*. Amira and Agnes, together with other future Co-Owners from around 1,000 eligible supervisory-and-above-level HKBN Talents, will align their interests with the Group's shareholders and become extra motivated to deliver outstanding results for HKBN.

A resourceful leader

Prior to joining HKBN, Almira and Agnes were prominent leaders at WTT. Almira was Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the management of Accounting & Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, Procurement, Office Administration and Building Access for network rollout. She is a qualified accountant, a member of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Pioneering force in telecommunications policy and regulation

Agnes has over 20 years of extensive experience in telecommunications spanning across legal, policy, regulatory and interconnections issues. She was a primogenitor in competing with the incumbent when the fixed-line market was deregulated in 1995. Since then she has played an active role in the establishment of pro-competition regulatory and interconnection regime, through close engagement and negotiations with regulators and industry players. Before relocating to Hong Kong in 1994, Agnes worked as an in-house counsel as well as in private practice in Australia, specialising in technology licensing, intellectual property rights protection and their commercialisation.

Agnes is currently Vice Chair of Legal Committee at Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and President of Regulatory Issues Group at the Communications Association of Hong Kong. She is also a member of the Telecommunications Regulatory Affairs Advisory Committee in the Office of the Communications Authority. Agnes holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University.
