The webinar kicked off with the opening remarks by Dato' Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip, Chairman of REHDA Institute, focusing on the various challenges faced by the real estate industry & the potential remedies that can help to improve the current housing market conditions. The first speaker of the day, Mr. Siva Shanker, CEO, Real Estate Agency, Rahim & Co. International Sdn Bhd gave an insightful presentation on 'Malaysia's Real Estate Market & Outlook 2021.' Among the highlights of his presentation include an insight into the current property market report and latest trends in real estate market, the current oversupply situation and the steps that needs to be taken moving forward, as well as what is in store for the market as we head into year 2021, just to name a few.

The webinar continued with an interesting sharing by Professor Dr. Sr Rosli Said, Associate Professor, Department of Real Estate, Faculty of Built Environment, UM & Executive Director, Cushman & Wakefield (IVPS Malaysia) with his topic on 'An Insight into the Malaysian Real Estate Market.' His presentation focused primarily on 4 key points; The economic overview and key statistics for Q2 of 2020, The current property market scenario, Real estate market forecast for residential, industrial and commercial sectors as well as Post-COVID strategies for the current market situation.

For the last session of the day, Dato' Soam Heng Choon, President of REHDA Malaysia moderated a panel discussion session with the theme, 'Real Estate Resilience - The Key to Survival.' The session featured Tan Sri Datuk Eddy Chen Lok Loi, Trustee, REHDA Institute & Group Managing Director, MKH Berhad, Sr. Michael Geh Thuan Peng, Immediate Past President, FIABCI-Malaysia & Senior Partner, Raine & Horne International Zaki + Partners Sdn Bhd and was joined again by Professor Dr. Sr Rosli Bin Said and Mr. Siva Shanker. The panel session saw the respective panellists giving their critical insights on the current issues that has impacted the housing market as well as the challenges and opportunities that lies ahead for the real estate market as we head into the year 2021. The webinar concluded with a 20 minutes Q&A session with the webinar participants to end Day 1 of the Housing Conference Webinar.
