Independent Analysis Report Indicates Huawei Smart PV Solution Delivers Optimal LCOE over Central Inverters

2020-08-05 20:00 2255

SANTIAGO, Chile, Aug. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- As one of the fastest-growing regions, Latin America has enjoyed tremendous growth in the solar energy market in recent years especially in Mexico, Brazil and Chile. Huawei, as the market leader in Smart PV solution, has conducted a thorough independent analysis[1] of its string inverter solution. The report shows that Huawei Smart PV solution provides optimal LCOE (the levelized cost of energy) with a 4.3% reduction compared with central inverter for monofacial configuration and a 4.5% save for bifacial configuration.

The report includes an assessment of Huawei's Smart PV business track-record, product technical evaluation, post-sales service assessment and LCOE analysis between string (Huawei 185KTL-H1) and central inverters based on a 75MW project in the north of Chile, close to Copiapo. For the project analysis, it is important to note that the design was prepared and optimized considering the environmental conditions of the project site, such as irradiance and temperature, taking into consideration the technical characteristic of the main equipment to be installed and also considering similar AC capacities and inverters prices.

Henry Xia, Director of Smart PV Business in Latin America from Huawei said, 'We are delighted to see an independent research firm has substantiated that Huawei string inverters' advantages compared with central inverters. Consistently, we are committed to maintaining our market leader position in inverters market, and provide even more optimized LCOE for projects in Latin America.'
