SYDNEY, July 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Governments around the world are being asked to provide greater digital services to citizens and improve their online experiences and interactions with government agencies.

However, a recent Senate enquiry* into Digital Transformation within the Australian Federal Government highlighted several key challenges that agencies are facing on their transformation journey. These include cyber security, privacy, user diversity, systems architecture, leadership and skilling.

These issues and more will be discussed at the GovInnovate Summit to be held on the 9-11 October at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. Hannover Fairs Australia, the organisers of CEBIT Australia, are hosting the Summit and Program Manager Edyta Bednorz highlighted this year's key speakers.

"We are delighted to welcome some very prestigious presenters to this year's program, including Emma Stace who is the Director of Transformation at the UK Department of Education. She will share her personal reflections on ten years of leading digital service transformation projects.

"Another highlight will be Adrian Turner, the CEO of Data61, presenting on how Australia can grasp the $315bn opportunity that digital innovation is estimated to bring to our economy over the next decade.

There are over fifty presenters including Genevieve Bell, Distinguished Professor, Australian National University, Director, 3A Institute, and Senior Fellow, Intel; Mohan Aiyaswami, Chief Technology Officer, Department of Defence; Jerome Reid, Group Captain, Director Plan Jericho, Royal Australian Air Force and Anthony Murfett, Deputy Head, Australian Space Agency to name but a few."

The public sector only Summit will be held over three days with a mix of plenary sessions and streams that include deep-dives into digital transformation, artificial intelligence, service delivery and user experience, digital innovation and smart cities, data analytics and privacy and cyber risk.

The third day of the Summit will feature four workshops covering privacy, human-centred design, digital legislation and how to build high performing technical teams.
