KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PETRONAS won three Brandon Hall Excellence Awards for its leadership development programme, Managerial Excellence (ME) at the 2018 HCM Excellence Awards. The winners were announced via a webcast on 24 August 2018 and will be honoured at a ceremony in Florida, USA, on 24 January 2019.

PETRONAS was awarded for Best Unique or Innovative Learning and Development Programme (Gold), Best Use of Blended Learning (Gold), and Best Advance in Competencies and Skill Development (Silver).

The annual HCM Excellence Awards recognise organisations that have successfully deployed human capital management programmes, strategies, processes, systems, and tools that have achieved measurable results for the company.

PETRONAS Senior Vice President, DOILKato' Raiha Azni Abd Rahman said that the international recognition given by Brandon Hall is a testimony to PETRONAS' success in nurturing talents.

"We are truly honoured. At PETRONAS, we believe that talent is the most fundamental asset to our success as a leading oil and gas multinational and we will continue to develop our talents through structured career, leadership and capability development programmes," said Dato' Raiha.

The PETRONAS ME Programme is a 3-month leadership learning for middle managers, via a collaboration between PETRONAS Leadership Center (PLC), a PETRONAS subsidiary and training arm and BTS, a world-leading strategy implementation firm.

"This is such great news and proof that we are on to something new and a truly effective approach to create business impact through a change in people's way of working," said Patrick Fei, Managing Director at BTS Asia. He added that the excellent working dynamics with PETRONAS is a major factor for the success.

A panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group analysts and executives evaluated award entries based upon the following criteria: fit the need, design of the programme, functionality, innovation, and overall measurable benefits.

The awards from Brandon Hall was a first for PLC while the PETRONAS ME Programme also won Gold for Innovation in Human Resources Management, Planning & Practice at the Asia-Pacific Stevie® Awards back in April 2018.
