JAKARTA, Indonesia, July 12, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Iyagi Novels, a new digital content distributor for Korean novels in translated media, announced today that Kevin Kok-Yew Tan has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in addition to his current role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Kevin joined Iyagi as CTO in May 2022, bringing his extensive digital communications and business development experience to the digital content and publishing industry. Since its incorporation, Kevin has spearheaded the design and development of the web and mobile applications for Iyagi, working with the rest of the management in Iyagi Novels to bring high quality Korean content to the world in different languages.
Even at its beta launch with the first round of more than 1,000 chapters of curated novels, Iyagi had amassed more than 3,000 mobile application downloads - giving great confidence to the team formed by members from Indonesia, Singapore and South Korea. As part of the soft launch for Iyagi in Indonesia, a promotion for an all expenses paid trip to South Korea is ongoing, with influencers in Indonesia chipping in to support the promotion. With the growing interest in Korean content across Asia, Iyagi is working with publisher partners and content creators in South Korea to curate more content for its users.
Speaking on his dual-CEO appointments, Kevin, who is also CEO of Socium Consultancy in Singapore, shared: "I am grateful for the confidence from the rest of the management as we move into a new chapter for Iyagi Novels with the help of the team from Socium. The digitalisation and translation of content not only fosters cultural exchange, it also promotes the appreciation of diverse narratives, and the potential media partners in various Asian countries for us to bring Iyagi Novels over give us the motivation to curate more compelling content for our readers."
The Iyagi mobile application is currently available in English and Bahasa Indonesia, with its novel content in Bahasa Indonesia while investor and partnership discussions are ongoing to bring the mobile application and Korean content to other Asian countries in other languages. Fans of Korean content can download the Iyagi mobile application from Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Iyagi Novels is on the following social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, Threads.
