AMSTERDAM, April 6, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- inaho Inc. (Headquarters: Kanagawa, Japan) announces the establishment of inaho Europe B.V. and starts doing business in the Netherlands. The company's latest product: a tomato harvesting robot is unveiled.
inaho Inc.(hereafter, "inaho") is a Japan-based startup offering solutions for robotic automation in agriculture. Its European subsidiary, inaho Europe B.V., has been established and starts operation from 1st April 2021. Starting with the tomato harvesting robot, the company aims to address the challenges facing European farms.
Key Features
inaho began the development of their tomato harvesting robot in 2020. Four robots have already been manufactured and released; they are currently under operation, collecting feedback from several leading growers in Japan for further improvements.
inaho's mission is to make farming more sustainable. Through their solutions, the company will contribute to labour-saving and efficiency improvement in agriculture in Europe and other regions.
"Farms and producers across various countries are suffering from labour shortages as a result of the pandemic of COVID-19. In addition to the global pandemic, the increasing wages for farmworkers are becoming a growing difficulty for businesses in agriculture. These challenges could eventually lead to food shortages in the coming years; therefore now is the time to introduce automation technologies and to transition away from the existing methods of farming," said Sohya Ohyama, Co-founder and COO of inaho.
"We believe that our cutting-edge technologies and solutions will contribute to the well-being of all persons in the agricultural industry and lead to the realization of sustainable agriculture in the future. To make this happen, we are seeking partners who can expand on these values together: growers, seed companies and facility equipment companies in the EU."
