  • The company is removing barriers to provide 24/7 clinical assistance for gig workers and travellers across the region.
  • Company has been rolling out language features in stages, with more planned in the future.

SINGAPORE, Sept. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- MyDoc, a Singapore based digital healthcare company, has recently announced that its services are now available across five languages.

Starting from today, all users will have the option to choose between English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai.

Users will be able to choose their preferred language for interacting both on the desktop and mobile app. Their selection will also determine their preferred language when interacting with doctors and other registered healthcare professionals on the platform.

Dr. Snehal Patel, CEO and co-founder of MyDoc, said, "Allowing our customers to choose the language they interact in on our platform is in line with our vision of breaking barriers in healthcare. Especially in the era of gig economy, more people are choosing flexible work options which may bring them across the globe to different countries.

"Falling ill in a foreign country is daunting. Miscommunication or misunderstandings could potentially lead to misdiagnosis. It's important that our customers feel comfortable with doctors who understand them, so that any issues can be clearly communicated, to facilitate a safe environment for managing their health on our platform."

Dr. Vas Metupalle, CIO and co-founder of MyDoc, said, "Our platform is designed so our users can have access to doctors they are familiar with, regardless of their physical location. By offering a variety of languages, we are making it more accessible for people who may have migrated or are travelling, to access doctors who can communicate effectively with them.

"Language and culture are not limited to a country's borders. Businesses are increasingly expanding beyond geographical borders. Similarly, we believe that everyone should have access to good quality healthcare without being limited to the physical location of their doctors."

The company has been trialling language options for the past few months, and has since rolled out the feature in phases for various customers. The feature is now available for all users across the region, with additional languages planned in the future.
