DA NANG, Vietnam, Oct. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun World Ba Na Hills has been named 'Vietnam's Leading Theme Park 2019' at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia & Oceania.
Sun World Ba Na Hills is the first entertainment complex to be honored as 'Vietnam's Leading Theme Park' by the World Travel Awards, which held its annual gala ceremony on Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam on October 12, 2019.
Mr. Nguyen Lam An, Director of Sun World Ba Na Hills, commented: "For 10 years, everyone at Sun World Ba Na Hills has been working tirelessly to make this one of Danang's tourism hotspots. Winning this inaugural award as Vietnam's Leading Theme Park really gets to the heart of what we do at Sun World Ba Na Hills and acknowledges all of the efforts we made as the pioneer for Vietnam's leisure tourism industry."
Developed by Sun Group, Sun World Ba Na Hills was officially put into operation in 2009 and swiftly became a defining symbol of Da Nang city in Central Vietnam. Going to Ba Na Hills, tourists will discover a wonderland amongst the pristine beauty of Nui Chua Mountain: flower gardens, a French village, a 100-year old wine cellar, the largest indoor amusement park in Southeast Asia, a tranquil spiritual zone, and much, much more.
Visitors can stay at Mercure Da Nang French Village Ba Na Hills -- the 4-star hotel in Sun World Ba Na Hills, which was named the Asia Luxury Honeymoon Hotel at World Luxury Hotel Awards 2019, play a round of golf at a world class course, and enjoy meals at any of 20 restaurants all around Ba Na Hills.
Last but not least, visitors always 'check in' at Golden Bridge, which became a worldwide phenomenon overnight when it opened in 2018. Bored Panda said it looks like "something from the Lord of the Rings". Besides the spectacular architecture and beautiful ambience, Sun World Ba Na Hills also hosts festivals, cultural events and stage shows throughout the year to ensure visitors can always have a fun time.
In 10 years of operations, Sun World Ba Na Hills has attracted millions of travelers and made a significant contribution to the overall growth of tourism in Da Nang. Between 2009 and 2018, tourist numbers in Da Nang grew by 463% while those going to Ba Na went up 160 fold.
Along with Sun World Ba Na Hills, Sun World Fansipan Legend -- another project of Sun Group -- was also honored by WTA Asia & Oceania as "Vietnam's Leading Tourist Attraction 2019". In addition, the group also reeled in many other prizes from WTA for various hotels, resorts, and Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province, all in Vietnam.
Being recognized by World Travel Awards vindicates Sun Group's strategic vision and determination to enhance Vietnam's reputation as one of the most attractive destinations in the region and put it on the world's tourism map.
