Tai'an accelerates development of digital economy

TAI'AN, China, July 12, 2022 /PRNewswire/-- The following is a report from the Press Office of the Tai'an Municipal People's Government:

Tai'an, in East China's Shandong province, has recently seized upon the economic opportunities offered by the digital revolution to bring in and implement the technology needed to develop a digital economy and assist traditional industries in their digital transformation. The city's government will become involved in the integration of the digital economy with the real economy, by speeding up the adoption of digital technologies through the building, complementing and strengthening of the industry chain alongside an acceleration in the development and digital transformation of core industries.

The municipal government has held discussions with Inspur Software, Uroica (Shandong) Mining Technology and other companies to develop the digital transformation roadmap, decide on the goals and select the solutions. At the same time, drawing on the talent pool of digital economy majors graduating from Shandong Agricultural University, the city designed a training program for the development of the digital economy with a focus on the application of big data to reach the necessary goals. The end-goal is to create a top notch talent team to complete the city's digital transformation mission.

In addition, with the support of Taishan Digital Valley, Tai'an Innovation & Startup Center (New Eastern Urban Area), China Electronic IT Innovation Industrial Base, Taishan Big Data Industrial Park, the municipal government is speeding up the construction of Taishan Digital Industrial Park in the city's High-tech Zone, while driving the development of the digital economy through the construction of additional digital parks. The guidance provided by the city's first three digital parks, including that of Shennong Zhigu Big Data Industrial Park, has given a lot of impetus to broadening the strength of digital economy.

Tai'an's leading digital players have already built 18 industrial Internet platforms, of which five have been selected by the provincial government to serve as demonstration models. The city also plans to accelerate the development of platforms for smart agriculture, e-commerce, logistics, commodity trading and other emerging industries, as well as build several public welfare service platforms providing services for intelligent parking and intelligent social security. The platforms will empower several core industries including mining equipment manufacturing, medicine and medical equipment, textiles and clothing as well as auto parts as each move through their digital transformation process.
