In this fast-paced world, Thailand has not only developed skills and practices to provide Thai rice to the world. Thailand also develops and offers Thai rice as innovations.

The combination of the nutritional richness of Thai rice and cutting-edge technology has given rise to non-food rice innovations, especially beauty products and cosmetics. These alternatives cater to modern consumers who favour naturally derived, eco-friendly products, the Ministry of Commerce states.

Products for health-conscious consumers include talcum-free powder made from rice starch, which poses no risks of lung diseases or ovarian cancer.

Beauty products, especially anti-ageing products, range from facial serum made from black glutinous rice, facial nourishing serum created from organic Hom Mali rice bran oil, hair serum made from Riceberry rice bran oil to lip balm created from rice bran wax.

Medical materials include haemostatic sponge used in surgical procedures. Made from pure rice starch, this biodegradable sponge helps lessen Thailand's reliance on imports. It is suitable for stopping post-operative internal bleeding and haemorrhaging in major organs. Since it is biodegradable, it is harmless for patients.
