This annual evaluation was conducted by DORTS to highlight the utmost importance of IV&V in rail projects. It took into account the service quality of contractual activities done by IV&V service providers via a comprehensive set of evaluation criteria that included service quality, time management, professional competency, and project engagement. TUV Rheinland won the award with a score above 85 points, which is considered "outstanding" in the overall classification. Considering the complex nature of both projects, with high demands in terms of project delivery conditions and technical difficulty, winning the award is a reflection on the company's unwavering commitment to delivery of the highest in service standards by in-house technical experts.

To ensure that when DLRT was put into revenue service it would be safe, reliable, and operate within schedule for all residents of the Danhai district, the TUV Rheinland Rail team worked around the clock to ensure successful delivery and the completion of all activities, from the design, installation, testing, & commissioning phases through to the last element, operational readiness.

Making the DLRT project even more technically challenging was the necessity of preserving the river's hydrology and natural scenery, solved with the design of a long-span cable-stayed truss bridge crossing the beautiful Xindian River. TUV Rheinland's rail experts had to employ strict risk-management techniques to control the risks in the building of the bridge, simultaneously materializing its innovative design while ensuring its structural integrity.

"This is indeed a great honour, on behalf of TUV Rheinland, to receive both of these awards," said Rover Jan, Vice General Manager of the Rail Department of TUV Rheinland. "This again justifies our company's commitment to be the world's most trusted technical services provider. The evaluation, similar to an annual health check, pushes us to maintain our highest level of service quality and to deliver the results that our client wants."

TUV Rheinland was the pioneer and the very first testing, inspection, and certification body in Taiwan to be awarded with TAF accreditation granting authority to conduct both independent safety assessment (ISA) and independent verification and validation (IV&V) services for whole rail systems and/or relevant sub-systems.

The company has extensive experience in the Project Risk Management & Certification (PRMC) sector, having managed, inspected, tested, and certified many rail products and projects at the highest level. This includes the latest rail products/projects in all the following territories in Asia: Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China.
