MANILA, Philippines, May 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- TUV Rheinland, a global leader in independent testing, inspection, certification, and training services, has announced the launch of its Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Consultancy Services in accordance with the increasingly strict OSH regulations that have come into force in the Philippines.

In August 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act 11058, which strengthens the requirement for compliance with occupational safety and health standards. The law seeks to ensure the safety of Filipino workers from hazards in their work environment.

RA 11058 requires employers to provide a place of employment that is free from hazards, give complete job safety instructions and comply with OSH standards, including the provision of protective and safety devices. Employers who violate the law face a penalty of PHP 100,000 for each day the violation continues, starting from the day the employer or contractor is served with notice.

Accreditation paves the way of helping customers get the assurance that the services offered by a recognized provider are officially recognized and qualified in performing activities that makes the workplace more positive and safe.

TUV Rheinland Philippines recently attained accreditation as an OSH Consulting Organization from the country's Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC). This capability will further safeguard the morale and performance of employees, and help provide a positive working environment for companies of all industries and sizes.

TUV Rheinland's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Consultancy Services help clients ensure that their occupational safety and health programs are compliant with OSH Standards in the Philippines. Covering a wide range of issues, the services assist in the following key areas:

  • Technical Assessments and Measurements -- noise monitoring, ergonomics, air sampling, indoor air quality and radiation monitoring, among other things
  • Audits or Assessments of health and safety programs to determine or support compliance with OSH Standards in the Philippines
  • Technical assistance on policies, procedures and programs involving Occupational Health and Safety initiatives

Working with clients to enhance OSH resiliency

In most cases, TUV Rheinland will work with clients to determine what needs to be done. Scope of work (SOW) documentation, describing how the expected results will be achieved and the timeframe needed to deliver them, is created and agreed upon to provide a full understanding of the project.

"Our OSH Consultancy services are aimed at helping our clients enhance their resiliency by providing guidance on compliance in accordance with the latest Philippines' national standards. We offer a wide array of Occupational Safety and Health solutions, from compliance set-up to risk assessment and measurement.
