WEIFANG, China, Dec. 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security, and the General Administration of Customs issued the Notice on Further Expanding Regions for the Export of Used Cars, allowing another 14 regions to conduct the export of used cars. Weifang, Shandong, was included in the list, becoming the fourth region in Shandong to conduct the export of used cars following Qingdao, Jining, and Zaozhuang.
Orderly expanding the export of used cars is a significant step to accelerate the upgrading of car consumption in China, facilitate the domestic and international circulation of the automobile industry, and promote the high-quality development of foreign trade. Since 2019, three Shandong cities—Qingdao, Jining, and Zaozhuang—have been approved as national pilot regions for the export of used cars, with nine companies, represented by Snail Truck Network (Shandong) E-commerce Co., Ltd., granted the qualifications for the business. Over more than three years of practice, Shandong has continuously improved its used-car export management system, streamlined its regulatory process, and increased its trade facilitation. The efforts have led to the formation of a standardized export process consisting of domestic car collection, registration of transfer, third-party testing, declaration of the export permit, customs clearance for export, and cancellation of car registration. The used-car export of Shandong has witnessed great achievements, with steady expansion in the export scale, increasing diversity in the exported models, and ever-growing average export prices.
It is estimated that, in 2022, Shandong will export more than 4,000 used cars, generating a revenue of $100 million, and both figures represent a historic high; its export of commercial vehicles will rank first nationwide for three years in a row.
