Weifang city in east China's Shandong Province recently issued a guideline on accelerating the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, focusing on such tasks as improving technology and production processes, product systems, product quality, industrial chains, and economic returns.
By 2025, the production processes and technology of more than 90 percent of the city's industrial enterprises above designated size, or those with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan (about $2.79 million) each, will reach domestically advanced levels, the guideline says.
CNC-controlled production equipment will account for over 80 percent of the total equipment in key industries, and that of industry-leading enterprises will surpass 90 percent, it says.
The city's five 100-billion-yuan-level industrial chains and 10 50-billion-yuan-level industrial chains in key manufacturing industries will be characterized by more distinctive features, better supporting facilities, and more prominent development of industrial clusters.
According to the guideline, a green manufacturing system will be improved and a mechanism for facilitating green development will be basically established. Enterprises' capabilities to save energy and reduce carbon emissions will be improved across the board. Weifang will build over 100 green factories above the municipal level.
The total annual revenue of the city's industrial enterprises above designated size will reach about 1.5 trillion yuan.
Meanwhile, Weifang will build itself into a globally renowned city for green dynamic equipment and metaverse industry and a domestically famous city for ready-to-cook dishes.
