The Walt Disney Company Appoints Yvonne Pei Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, Greater China

SHANGHAI, March 24 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Walt Disney Company in China today announced the appointment of Ms. Yvonne Pei, senior vice president, government affairs, Greater China. In this role Ms. Pei will be responsible for the Company's strategic relationships across Greater China with key policy makers and government officials in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan and all relevant municipalities as well as the delivery of targeted advocacy in support of business goals.

Ms. Pei joins the global government relations team reporting directly to Mr. Alan Braverman, senior executive vice president and general counsel and secretary, The Walt Disney Company, based in Los Angeles. To fulfill her role, Yvonne will work closely with Stanley Cheung, executive vice president and managing director, Greater China and will be an integral member of his senior management team to lead and ensure the full integration of government directed efforts with business initiatives and goals in Greater China.

Ms. Pei will also be responsible for providing local leadership for the effective coordination and execution of corporate communications, corporate responsibility and corporate outreach programs, developed in concert with Corporate Communications, Segment Public Affairs and Corporate Responsibility. All Company's government relations personnel in Greater China will report to her.

Most recently Ms. Pei held a senior executive position leading Government Affairs and Public Policies, Asia Pacific & Japan for Dell Inc. She strategically raised Dell's profile and visibility and significantly forwarded Dell's commercial interests in China.

Prior to Dell, Ms. Pei held senior Public Affairs positions at Procter & Gamble in the United States, Hong Kong and China. Her professional activities include present Board Directorship on the US Information Technology Organization and past Board membership on the American Chamber of Commerce South China, Chair of the Advertiser Committee of China Advertising Association and Board Member of the Guangzhou Education Foundation.

Yvonne has a Master of Arts from GSIS, University of Denver, a Master of Arts from Government Department, College of William and Mary and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Civil Aviation of Administration of China.

Ms. Pei will be based in the company's Shanghai office and will commence work effective 1 April 2010.
