Jun Tang Named New Chief Executive Officer of Media Asia Group Holdings Limited

HONG KONG, Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Media Asia Group Holdings Limited ("Media Asia", stock code: 8075) is pleased to announce Mr. Jun Tang  ("Mr. Tang") has been appointed chief executive officer of the Company, effective immediately.  At the same time, Mr. Tang also becomes a member of Media Asia's board of directors. 

As chief executive, Mr. Tang will oversee all aspects of the company's operations on a worldwide basis. He brings over 28 years of experience in the global film and entertainment industry to Media Asia.  Mr. Tang will be charged with driving Media Asia's business growth,  developing strategic expansion plans, forging stronger business partnerships across borders, and creating synergies across all of Media Asia's divisions, including film, television, music, live entertainment, talent management and new media.

About Jun Tang

Jun Tang has extensive experience in the film and entertainment industry, both in China and the US markets, and has served in many high profile senior roles at premier global entertainment companies.  Immediately prior to joining Media Asia, Mr. Tang was Group Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Shanda Tiandi Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited (NASDA:SNDA), which focuses on developing next generation interactive entertainment and life experience and products.  In 1994, Mr. Tang joined Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. and was promoted to Vice President, China Operations two years later.  Capital Cities/ABC later merged with The Walt Disney Company ("Disney") in 1996 and Mr. Tang served in a number of roles at Disney, helping reshape the company's overall China plan and strategy.  He served at Disney until 2010, mainly in the role of Corporate Senior Vice President – China Affairs.  Mr. Tang began his career in 1983 by joining China Film Group, a state owned Beijing based media and entertainment conglomerate, and his responsibilities included negotiating the importation of various foreign movies and television programs for release in China and the distribution of Chinese movies and entertainment products to the world.  Mr. Tang holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Institute of International Relations in Beijing, China.
