SHANGHAI, Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Dr. Minda Ho, President of Praxair China has received the 2011 White Magnolia Memorial Award from Shanghai Municipality. This prestigious award is one of the high honors presented by the Shanghai Municipal Government to foreign nationals in recognition for their contribution to the city's economic performance, international relations, business environment, management standards and community development.
A veteran of Praxair, Dr. Ho relocated to Shanghai with his family in 1997. Having lived and worked in China for nearly 15 years, he has been responsible for most of the direct investment of Praxair in China, implemented dozens of successful projects in China, including joint ventures and wholly owned enterprises. He has been involved in all aspects of project development, execution and operation.
Dr. Ho was also one of the early key contributors to help establish the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in Caojing as the premium chemical industry park in China. He has served as the chairman of the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Industrial Gases Company (SCIP-IG) since 2003. SCIP-IG has been supplying to all the industrial gas users in the Park with reliable and economical pipeline supply.
In addition, he has been actively involved in community services in Shanghai. For example, Dr. Ho served as the chairman of the board of the Shanghai American School, from 2000 to 2003, among his distinguished contributions.
