HONG KONG, Dec. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ --AsiaWorld-Expo, Asia's leading exhibition, convention and events venue, is offering an action-packed programme of entertainment and public events to light up the holiday season. From world-class concerts to a debut fashion extravaganza, it's all happening at AsiaWorld-Expo.
Music lovers will be thrilled with the diversity of incredible concerts coming to AsiaWorld-Expo at the year-end and in the New Year. On 31 December, the venue will welcome the RocknOver Countdown Concert 2012 featuring top Chinese bands Tai Chi, Mr., RubberBand and Kolor -- the perfect way to see in the New Year.
On 5 January 2012, chart-topping pop group Scissor Sisters will make their Hong Kong debut at AsiaWorld-Expo. Drawing on their roots in New York disco, the band's infectious dance floor anthems have made Scissor Sisters a global phenomenon.
For an experience of pure Canadian punk, the Simple Plan "Get Your Heart On! Tour" Live in Hong Kong 2012 is also an event not to be missed. After selling four million albums worldwide, and rocking the stage at the Live N Loud Festival in Hong Kong three years ago, Simple Plan is finally holding its own concert at AsiaWorld-Expo on 10 January 2012.
Fans of Korean pop won't want to miss the CNBLUE 2012 Asia Tour Concert "Bluestorm in HongKong", which will perform at AsiaWorld-Expo on 7-8 January 2012. This hugely popular Korean band has performed in many Asian cities since their debut. Earlier this year, they also performed as the opening act for LINKIN PARK live in Japan. Tickets for both shows at AsiaWorld-Expo sold out within days.
Following hot on the heels of CNBLUE, nine-girl Korean pop group Girls Generation will perform on 15 January 2012 at yet another sell-out concert. Much more than award-winning pop stars, these tender-hearted girls also donated a portion of the revenue from their Japanese single MR. TAXI / Run Devil Run to the Japan Red Cross to provide assistance to the victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
To complement this amazing line-up of musical entertainment, AsiaWorld-Expo is also honoured to welcome the debut Fashion Fest For Girls on 7 January 2012. This "first of its kind" fashion show in Hong Kong offers a dynamic showcase of the latest trends in Asian girls' fashions. Combining a spectacular catwalk show with wonderful performances and shopping all under one roof, Fashion Fest For Girls is set to be a massive hit with fashion-conscious girls in their late-teens and early 20s. To ensure an inspirational experience, over 60 models and celebrities from Japan, mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong will walk the runway, presenting the latest fashion brands and must-have accessories.
This amazing line-up of concerts and shows is yet further confirmation that AsiaWorld-Expo offers the facilities and services that the world's leading entertainers and event organisers need. To ensure people in all areas of Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories can enjoy the shows and events at AsiaWorld-Expo, the venue has implemented a range of enhanced transportation, including fast and direct services on the Airport Express with a special same-day return fare, as well as point-to-point Express Bus services (X1) and a direct service on all A-route Airport Buses.
