MIAMI, Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- ChatTime, the award winning iPhone app for high quality international calls, has added China to it's list of countries which support free international calling, bringing the total number of countries which support free international calls to 54.
Daniel Currie, founder and CEO of SmartRoam, the developer of ChatTime, commented "Adding China as a free call country is a natural extension of our current business model. The appetite for the iPhone in China is unprecedented. According to Flurry, China is now second only to the United States in terms of App Store downloads, and with so much room for growth China could easily occupy the top spot in the next 12 - 18 months".
When asked about international call volume to and from China, Currie responded, "The number of Chinese living and working overseas continues to rise. Until now, low cost international calling has been restricted to calling cards or VoIP solutions, which are restrictive in use. ChatTime offers a great alternative; an international call is as simple to make and the call quality as clear as a local call. Using ChatTime, it's easy to call family and friends in China anytime and from anywhere."
Commenting on the progress of free international calls since it's launch in November 2011, Currie said, "We've been overwhelmed by the adoption of free calls, we've experienced a strong increase in registrations, average call duration of a free call is 3 times longer than a paid call. The volume of free calls is doubling every other week and we have users making hour long calls several times a week, which is a very strong indication of the potential demand globally".
To support the launch of free international calls to the Chinese market, ChatTime have started to localize the user experience and now offer Chinese customer support. With close to 10% of ChatTime's user base already from China, the company has a strong base to grow.
