HONG KONG and SHANGHAI, July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- UBM Asia announces that it will work with EFEM based in Istanbul to support each other's baby products shows. The announcement will be made today at UBM's Shanghai International Children-Baby-Maternity Industry Expo (CBME). EFEM is the organizer of the International Istanbul Mothers, Babies, Children Products Fair (MBCP) and Wintexpo Autumn Winter Baby Child Fashion Fair (Wintexpo), the leading baby shows in Turkey. Both parties will support and co-operate with each other on the sales and marketing of these events.
Held at Shanghai New International Expo Centre from July 18 - 20, CBME 2012 is Asia's largest baby products show. It brings together 1,287 international exhibitors and spans over 115,840 square meters of exhibition space, representing a 50% and 44% increase respectively over last year. 90,000 visitors are expected. Riding on the success of CBME, UBM Asia also announces the launch of CBME shows in Brazil and India in 2013.
Launched in 1992, MBCP in Istanbul is now the third largest baby products show in Europe. MBCP 2012 held at CNR Expo attracted about 7,000 trade visitors, mostly buyers from baby specialty stores, wholesalers and retailers. Same as CBME, its exhibit scope also covers apparel, furniture, toy, food and services.
Both CBME and MBCP are based in a market with tremendous growth: China has the largest population in the world with continuous growth in consumption especially on children and baby products/services and Turkey has the highest birth rate in the world. The co-operation between UBM and EFEM aims to facilitate global buyers and sellers of the baby products industry.
Erdal Baykara and Huseyin Irmak, Managing Directors of EFEM said:
"MBCP and Wintexpo are well-established as the leading baby shows in Turkey and it is high time to take them to a new level. UBM has a very strong international network and we look forward to a very successful co-operation with UBM in getting more international brands and participants to the show."
Jime Essink, President & Chief Executive Officer of UBM Asia said:
"We are excited to be working with Erdal Baykara, Huseyin Irmak and the team of EFEM. UBM Asia entered the children-baby-maternity products market via the CBME acquisition two years ago. We are witnessing the potential and growth of this industry in China. Our exhibitors are also looking for business opportunities beyond China. With the co-operation with MBCP in Turkey and UBM's new CBME shows in Brazil and India, we are very pleased that we can support the baby product industry in their global business."
