LONDON and BEIJING, Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Actis, the pan-emerging markets private equity firm, today announced the appointment of Max Lin as a Director in Beijing; Max takes up his post with immediate effect.
Max will seek investment opportunities in China, drawing on his broad experience in private equity and investment banking.
Max began his career as a business and tax consultant in Australia. In 1999, he moved into investment banking starting with Credit Suisse in Hong Kong before working at HSBC and Citigroup. In 2008, Max was part of the founding team of HOPU Investments; during his tenure at HOPU he led the execution of several significant transactions including investments in the Chinese financial services, logistics, industrials and consumer sectors. Max is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Max joins Actis's well-established China team, led from Beijing by Meng Ann Lim. China is an important focus for Actis's global business; the firm currently has over US$650m invested in leading Chinese businesses including, hot-pot chain Xiabu Xiabu, and catering equipment manufacturer, Vesta.
