Pinot Noir NZ 2013 – A triennial Pinot Noir Festival in Wellington from 28 -31 January 2013
BEIJING, Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- New Zealand's triennial showcase of the country's internationally-renowned Pinot Noir wines, Pinot Noir NZ 2013 returns to the Wellington Waterfront from January 28-31.
One of the world's premier Pinot Noir events (www.pinotnz.co.nz) is attracting some of the world's most influential wine luminaries and 'pinotphiles' from across the globe for four days of wine tasting and seminars.
In view of the development in regional styles of New Zealand Pinot Noir, this year, the focus is on regionality to highlight the distinctive characteristics of the variety grown in many diverse regions across New Zealand. The country's five key Pinot Noir-growing regions namely Central Otago, Marlborough, North Canterbury, Nelson and Wairarapa will be put under the microscope at this renowned event.
International wine experts will offer their insights and fresh opinions on the latest international thinking about New Zealand Pinot Noir. The winegrowers and winemakers will also gather at this event to tell their views and stories about New Zealand wine.
The event will be opened by Sam Neill, Jurassic Park actor and proprietor of Two Paddocks, a grower of premium Pinot Noir in Central Otago.
Over 300 fine wines from the 112 top Pinot Noir producers from Auckland, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa/Martinborough, Nelson, Marlborough, North Canterbury/Waipara Valley, Waitaki and Central Otago will be poured for tastings and review.
In late January, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and New Zealand Winegrowers invited a group of leading Chinese wine influencers and media to Pinot Noir NZ 2013. The group will also attend the pilot of the New Zealand Wine Professional Level 2 certification course established by the two agencies as part of the New Zealand Wine High Impact Program in China.
