New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and New Zealand Winegrowers (NZW) are co-hosting the wine seminar as part of a new initiative to promote New Zealand wine in China.
A broad cross-section of New Zealand wine styles from the country’s various wine producing regions will be showcased: Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling from Marlborough, Pinot Gris from Wairarapa, Chardonnay from Auckland, Pinot Noir from Central Otago, Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from Hawke’s Bay, and Gewürztraminer from Gisborne.
New Zealand wineries Fairbourne, Ohau Gravels, Kumeu River, Giesen, Mt Rosa, Vidal Estate, Babich, and Vinoptima will put forward some of their best wines that have already established themselves as premium labels in the China market for the tasting.
The seminar is being led by Mr. Li Demei, one of China’s most highly-respected wine experts.
