Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair to Debut in November
TAIPEI, Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Taiwan's jewellery industry is world-famous for its highly skilled manufacturing and processing techniques accumulated over hundreds years, passed down from generation to generation of craftsmen. Jewellery made in Taiwan is exported to high-end boutiques around the world, and Taiwan's designer jewellery brands flourish and shine in the international jewellery market attracting worldwide attention. Taiwanese jewellery is especially favored by Mainland Chinese consumers because Taiwan's jewellery products incorporate elements from both international art and Chinese cultural heritage.
Taiwan's first international jewellery exhibition, the Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair, will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 3, on 15-18 November 2013. The fair will serve as an international stage to showcase Taiwan's jewellery products, as well as an opportunity for overseas jewellery companies to explore the potential of the Taiwanese market.
In addition to a wide selection of internationally renowned jewellery companies the exhibition will also feature a special "Taiwanese Designers Area." This will feature jewellery items supplied by the Taiwan Creative Jewellery Designer Association, led by the famous Taiwanese jewellery designer Ms Wang Yueh-Yaw, the Taiwan Jewelry Designer Association. Also on display will be pieces by a number of Taiwan's well-known jewellery designers such as YuWen Designer Jewelry, Julia Peng, Wen-Ling Kang, Youn-Rong Lin and Qi-Ping Lu.
The styles of Taiwanese designs are both exquisite and creative, and they excel at blending the essence of Chinese culture into their designs. This is what generates such a high level of interest from Mainland China buyers. Taiwan's jewellery boutiques are famous for creatively combining the natural corals and jadeite stones that are traditionally favored by Chinese consumers.
Precious natural corals are highly sought-after by Mainland Chinese consumers and are one of the most wanted products when they visit Taiwan. This has led to a dramatic surge in demand. Taiwan is the world's largest coral material distribution center but recently it has experienced a shortage of coral, especially the rare Aka coral, which is driving price levels upward. Consumers who have bought Aka coral products in recent years have certainly seen their value increase. Given the surging demand and reduced supply, the value of coral products is certain to continue to rise. As a result, coral products have become the best investment product and collectable.
Given the large choice of precious coral products on the market, here are few tips in making your purchase selection. When selecting corals products, the basic tips are: choose one with uniformly distributed burning red color and high weight density. Buying from stores that actively issue Government Uniform Invoices is another tip to assure the quality of your coral products and to protect your investment. Ms Hung Ming-Li, Chairman of the Taiwan Jewelry Industry Association, notes, "When consumers buy coral goods, choosing reputable stores or brands is the best way to guarantee the quality." Therefore, she encourages consumers to buy the goods at the stores that issue invoices and provide certificate of jewellery products.
In view of the dynamic jewellery exchange between Mainland China and Taiwan, the organizer of Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair 2013 is actively inviting Mainland Chinese jewellery associations to visit the exhibition. The Organizer is planning a series of seminars, networking events and visits to popularize Taiwan's designing concept in the eyes of Mainland Chinese jewellery experts and lovers in order to arouse new thinking and creative spark.
