HANGZHOU, China, Oct. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The 15th West Lake International Expo Hangzhou, China officially opened in Hangzhou on October 12. Themed "Innovative West Lake Expo, Beautiful Hangzhou," the 29-day event selects 50 exhibition and festival programs from four major segments: trade and technology, cultural experience, tourism and leisure as well as traditional programs. The expo is expected to receive not less than 8 million visitors and generate 10 billion yuan (approx. US$1.6 billion) in trade business, US$1 billion in contracted foreign investment and 10 billion yuan (approx. US$1.6 billion) in domestic investment.
Focusing on the promotion of commerce and trade as well as of science and technology, this year's expo highlights the importance of the role that the expo will play in the stable and orderly economic development of Hangzhou.
