HONG KONG, Dec. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On 9 December, Academic Seminar for Hong Kong Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Centre (HKTCMRC) & Infinitus Scientific Advisory Board 2013 was held by Infinitus in Guangzhou. Principal Researcher of HKTCMRC Prof. Robert Ko and his research team from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST), Dr. Yong Kian Fui, a researcher at the Ministry of Health Malaysia, and Prof. Ching-Chiung Wang from Taipei Medical University participated and presented their research programs at the seminar.

With "Infinitus" as the core brand, LKK Health Products Group (LKKHPG) is a member of Lee Kum Kee Group, the Hong Kong-based ethnic enterprise with a history of over 100 years. Upholding the mission of "advocating the premium Chinese health regimen and nurturing healthier lives with balance, affluence, and harmony", LKKHPG is dedicated to providing high-quality Chinese herbal health products to the consumers in its four markets, mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia.

In order to develop its R&D capacity, Infinitus has established the "Infinitus Scientific Advisory Board", which is teamed up by a dozen of senior professors from renowned colleges in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia, including the three professors present at the seminar.

On that day, Prof. Ko reviewed the development course of HKTCMRC. Prof. Ko added, "In the past five years, we have harvested fruitful achievements, especially in Schisandra B. In the coming five years, HKUST and LKKHPG will further cooperate and make more contributions to the public health."

With rich experience in Chinese medicine of over 20 years, Dr. Yong Kian Fui is now a researcher at the Ministry of Health Malaysia, the director of Academy of Professional Acupuncture and Moxibustion Malaysia, and a member of Chinese Physicians of Malaysia. At the seminar, he delivered a detailed presentation on the symptoms of damp heat along with illustrated photos and Chinese herbal prescriptions. He said, "It is hot and wet in Malaysia, so Malaysians are often bothered by damp hot. In order to look into this problem, we carried out such research."

Prof. Ching-Chiung Wang elaborated on her testing experiments on Infinitus' selected products. She commented, "To guarantee the precision of the research, we also requested Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine to conduct the same experiments. The results were almost identical, despite minor differences in statistics. We were just very delighted that the R&D levels in both Taiwan and mainland China are equally excellent." Besides, she also stressed that for the sake of consumers' health, the Taiwanese government has formulated stringent criteria for health food. As a result, companies must obey relevant laws and regulations and ensure the product quality in all processes.

Mr. Harry Yeung, Senior Vice President of LKKHPG and the spokesperson of Infinitus, said, "Infinitus has always been joining hands with renowned R&D institutes and experts to establish a unique R&D system. Through cooperation, we can enhance our overall R&D knowledge and capacity, and develop more high-quality products, helping more people from our four markets to live a healthy life."
