NANJING, China, March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, jointly hosted the 2014 Global Professional LTE Summit in Nanjing, China with the Telecommunications Research Institute of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). To promote the commercialization of long term evolution (LTE) technologies, Huawei, along with 29 industry partners, formed the enterprise LTE (eLTE) Solution Alliance, which will enhance the cooperation between Huawei and technology integrators as well as equipment manufacturers, providing government and enterprise customers worldwide with high-quality commercial eLTE broadband trunking technologies and solutions, as well as promoting LTE in various applications such as smart cities. During the summit, Huawei also discussed recent LTE trends and standard practices with customers, partners, and industry associations and shared Huawei's technical expertise and practical experiences. A range of eLTE services, including video surveillance, mobile positioning, broadband trunking, rapid deployment single eNodeBs, and emergency communications vehicles was also showcased during the Summit.
"Rapid urbanization has brought about many challenges, such as traffic congestion and resource shortages, as well as high demands for audio and visual communications to ensure safety and protection of cities," said Mr. Patrick Zhang, President of Marketing and Solutions Department, Huawei's Enterprise Business Group. "To address these demands, Huawei has developed a range of services from its eLTE solutions, such as trunking dispatch systems, video surveillance, and high-performance broadband data network platforms capable of carrying out multiple service types, enabling governments and enterprises to operate intelligently, safely, and efficiently."
The first in the industry to apply LTE technology in the enterprise domain, Huawei's eLTE broadband trunking solution combines voice transmission with wireless high definition (HD) video surveillance and high bandwidth data access capability to enhance operational efficiency of enterprise customers in a number of industries, including transportation, energy, and electrical power industry, enabling the development of smart, safe cities.
Based on a deep understanding of customers' needs, Huawei continues to design and innovate its eLTE solution, to cater for each customer's unique application scenario. For instance, with HD video surveillance, government agencies can conduct real-time monitoring of critical areas/districts and quickly respond to emergencies. When dealing with public security matters, government agencies can use the voice trunking group call function to deliver commands to a group of firefighters or police, to coordinate staff in the same or different departments to carry out rescue operations to ensure public safety. Meanwhile, government departments can connect to work anywhere via the mobile broadband provided by the eLTE solution, substantially improving the management capabilities and work efficiency of the public sector.
As of December 2013, Huawei has signed 46 contracts to design innovative eLTE network solutions to address specific application scenarios for customers in the public sector, transportation, energy and other industries across the globe.
