It will be Air China's first nonstop route linking a city in west China to Australia, providing more flexible travel options for travelers in southwest China to Australia, and promoting the development of economy and tourism of, as well as trade and industrial cooperation between, Sichuan and China's western regions and Oceania.
Chengdu is China's famed "Land of Plenty", while Sydney, Australia's largest city and center of finance, transportation and tourism. Du Fu's Thatched Cottage, spicy foods and Chuanju (a traditional local stage show) will be linked to white sails, mellow wines and Sydney Opera House across the vast Pacific Ocean, and the laid back vibe of Chengdu to the brilliant sunlight of the Oceania. The Chengdu - Sydney service, CA429/30, is operated with Airbus 330-200 three times a week. The outbound flight, offered on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, departs from Chengdu at 22:55 and arrives in Sydney at 12:35 the following day. The return flight departs from Sydney at 14:35 and arrives in Chengdu at 22:35.
