SINGAPORE, May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia represented by the Director General of Agro-Industry, Ir Panggah Susanto, MM opened the first edition of Asia's leading paper industry exhibition, ASIAN PAPER JAKARTA 2015 at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran. Organised by UBM Asia, the 13th edition of Asian Paper was one of the largest leading exhibitions in Asia for the pulp, paper and board industry. Asian Paper Jakarta 2015 ran from April 28-30.

The highly anticipated event featured 70 international companies from 14 countries, including a national pavilion from France. The French Ambassador, H.E Corinne BREUZE attended the event as a VIP. Showcasing the full spectrum of the supply chain from raw materials, machines, chemicals, equipment to finished products, Asian Paper Jakarta 2015 brought together a formidable gathering of experts and professionals from the pulp, paper and board industry.

Created specifically to facilitate high level networking during the show, Asian Paper's Hosted Buyer Programme is an effective platform bringing together key regional buyers and decision makers from the pulp, paper & board industry. This year, the show hosted a sizable delegation of top management decision makers from pulp, paper and tissue mills from Myanmar. In addition, over 150 VIP buyers were expected to visit the event. Similar to the hosted buyers, the invited VIP buyers were decision makers from pulp and paper mills in Indonesia.

Aimed at attracting quality trade buyers to the show, a complimentary Business Matching Programme was held throughout the event. This programme paired buyers with exhibitors, based on their stated interest, to interact and network during Asian Paper's inaugurating exhibition in Jakarta.

Held in conjunction with the Asian Paper exhibition, the New Applied Technology (NAT) Conference extensively covered new technologies in the pulp, paper and board industry. The conference had thirteen tracks under the theme: 'Getting more with less -- new technology is the key.' In addition, a two-hour complimentary workshop on "The Impact of Nanotechnology on Paper Technology" was conducted by Dr. Gabor Hornyak, Director for the Centre of Excellence in Nanotechnology from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

"The presence of Asian Paper Jakarta 2015 inaugurated in Indonesia will position Asian Paper as the perfect platform for networking of the pulp and paper industries in Indonesia. In particular, to fulfill the needs of the pulp and paper industries, and provide opportunities to meet international players to exchange the latest access in terms of raw materials and technologies. Hopefully, this exhibition will provide contributions and improvements in the productivity and quality of Indonesian paper industries," said Senior Vice-President of UBM Asia Ltd., Mr. Christopher Eve.

Whether your company is a prestigious supplier to the many pulp and paper industry producers in the region, or you are responsible for buying the paper industry's quality products, you will have found huge opportunities at Asian Paper Jakarta 2015.
